Loving Mother, Grandmother and active town government in her Community and beyond

Obituary

Gail Brisson Misk, age 75 of Gloucester, formerly of Manchester by-the-Sea and Lincoln, passed away on September 24, 2017. She was born on June 22, 1942 in Boston, the daughter of Norman F. and Evelyn W. Brisson of Lincoln, MA. She grew up in Lincoln and was a member of the first graduating class of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1960.

Gail attended Boston University and continued a life-long pursuit of education at Harvard Extension, University of Arizona, American University, Goeth Institute in Germany, and Frei University of Berlin. Later in life she pursued computer and mathematics classes at local community colleges.

Gail had many interests, including politics and campaigning, activism, travel, horses, and reading. She was proud of her work with nonprofits and town government, including the Manchester Planning Board, Aid Inc., the Chamber of Commerce, Manpower, and as a job counselor for Jobs for the Elders. Gail founded Officetemps and worked as a small business owner in Manchester for eleven years, helping residents with marketing, resumes, and other business concerns.

Her biggest passion was always her children. She is survived by her son Daryl Miller and his wife Patricia of Lincoln and their children Jane and Ryan. She is also survived by her daughter Lynn Miller, and her children Reza and Kian. Gail was fond and appreciative of friends both new and old, from Lincoln, Manchester, and Gloucester. She was predeceased by Eugene S. Misk in 2003, her spouse of 26 years.

Gail gave meaning to family loyalty, perseverance, compassion, and effort. She had an amazing sense of humor and was a great conversationalist. Gail was incredibly thoughtful and worried constantly about others and their problems. She often gave more than she had, tried harder than expected, and worried more than necessary. She will be missed tremendously by her children.

Services private.

In lieu of flowers, please give in Gail's memory to Seniorcare Inc., 49 Blackburn Center, Gloucester, MA 01930. Her services will be private. For all the caretakers and help over the years, a heart-felt thank you for your efforts and for going above and beyond expectations, performing a noble and often thankless job.
