Condolence & Memory Journal

Dick was a beloved Trustee of National Braille Press during the time I worked there. With a twinkle in his eye, he would take a few moments at each Board meeting to speak with staff members about the work they did. It was a personal touch that meant a great deal to us. Just seeing his smiling face on this page reminds me of his kind and graceful nature, which I will never ever forget. God bless you, Dick, rest in peace.

I knew Dick for many years both as a long time trustee of National Braille Press (NBP) and also through various publishing related discussions over the years. He was a stalwart supporter of the mission of NBP and I valued his counsel, especially over the ten years I spent as Chair of the Board. He was a quiet but deliberate advisor and a patient listener. At a recent NBP event, we shared a table and he was apologizing for lapses in his memory but still acknowledged and engaged with my son and others that we dined with that evening. Ever the gentleman. I send my condolences to all of his family and friends with the hope that only the best and happiest of memories will prevail. I will miss him.
