Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Father, Grandfather and Friend

Meng-bo Pan, 82, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, passed away on March 18th, 2021.

Meng-bo was born in 1938 in Zhejiang, China. He was very proud of his early career as first mate traveling the world. He loved and enjoyed Chinese music throughout his life. He was skilled at playing Dizi and Pipa. He moved to Massachusetts in 1983 with his three children. In MA, he worked tirelessly for Marriott International to support his family and retired in 2007. In retirement, Meng-bo enjoyed reading the daily newspaper but was forced to migrate to reading it on the iPad when his children got tired of watching the piles of newspaper he hoarded for decades. He graduated to reading books and watching videos to learn how to cook on his iPad. His most proud creation was jiu cai hezi (leek pie).

Mengbo is survived by his daughter Chiaoling, her husband Yin and granddaughters Stephanie and Nicole; his daughter Meiling, her husband Cheekiang and grandson Brian; his son Chiate, his wife Jocelyn and granddaughter Emma; his sister Taili, her husband Wenmong; his brother Taichun, his wife Tungmei; and, his brother Taisheng. In addition he is survived by his nephew Todd, his wife Judy and two daughters Charlotte & Alexandra; his niece Jessica, her husband Roger and two sons Theodore & Andrew; his nephew Noah, his wife Saghi and daughter Darya; and nephew Jason and his wife Ritu.

The family will have a private funeral on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations made in Meng-bo's honor to go toward food banks and homeless shelters.
