Condolence & Memory Journal

I would like to belatedly share a rememberance of the one time I met Russ, from which I got a glimpse into his warm-hearted and generous nature others have written about. About a decade or so ago, a friend and I visited Russ at his home in Westport. My favorite quahogging spot is in the West Branch, and I wanted my father (who loved clams, but was no longer capable of paddling out to my clamming spot) to be able to get there. Russ offered to take my dad out on his boat to the spot. Unfortunately, my dad died before we were able to get him out there. But I will forever remember Russ' kind offer.

My friend. My buddy. Together, with Pats and Jane, we bicycled the world...Ireland, NewZealand, S.Africa,Vietnam, Italy...and much more. He was always out front, where the wind was fresh and his joy unbounded.
