Condolence & Memory Journal

It's with a heavy heart that I receive this news. Like many before and after me, she gave me the gift of music. She taught me more than notes and scales, she taught me to play with emotion. She planted the seed, and that seed grew as I explored other instruments and styles of music. She made music a cornerstone of my life. Only yesterday I cracked open the violin case to show my daughter how to hold it, and run the bow across the strings. I think back on the decade of tutelage that I received and I can picture her smile and the room we'd have the lesson in. I hope I can pass on some of those lessons to my children. I hope I can teach them to love music as you've taught me. Thank you, Virginia. Your memory will live on in the notes that we play, and the songs that we sing. You will be gravely missed and fondly remembered.

I'm so sorry to hear about Virginia. Like so many others I met her while I was studying with Mr. Neikrug and she was always very supportive and encouraging. Later I enjoyed visiting them together at their home in Concord. My condolences to Virginia's family.
