"Some time after I moved to Concord as a senior citizen in 2003, I joined a newly formed Council on Aging cribbage group of which Jerry Moscariello was a "founding father." It was then that I really came to know this special man as a friend who welcomed me and everyone else in attendance on any given Thursday, assisted inexperienced players if needed, verified anyone's counts if asked, and provided water to accompany our refreshments. This cribbage group, in so many ways because of Jerry, evolved into much more than a group of people playing cards - becoming instead a group of friends enjoying one another's company while participating in a fun activity.
Much will have changed in all of our lives - when times like those which once were come again. For COA cribbage players, Thursday afternoons will certainly be different without our friend Jerry Moscariello in our midst.
Jerry's beloved wife Jean, and his family have my heartfelt sympathy.
"Jerry was such a kind and generous human being. He had many skills and shared them with those of us who were all thumbs. An avid poker and cribbage player. Also a great fisherman, wood cutter, and tennis player. A great and humble man devoted to his family and friends. He will be missed by many and may he rest in peace."
